Identity and purity answer different questions

Neither result by itself establishes sterility, endotoxin status, stability across storage conditions, regulatory approval, or suitability for human or veterinary use.

Why method context matters
Mass spectra can contain adducts, multiply charged ions, fragments, and signals from related species. Interpretation depends on sample preparation, instrument settings, calibration, separation, and the reference or calculation used.
A careful reader therefore evaluates the complete record rather than copying a single mass value into a product claim. The report should make clear what was measured, under which conditions, and what was not tested.
A disciplined research vocabulary
- Say that a result is consistent with an expected mass under the stated method when that is what the document supports.
- Keep identity, chromatographic purity, content, sterility, and endotoxin as separate fields.
- Do not call a synthetic interface fixture a laboratory result.
- Do not translate analytical context into a personal-use or treatment recommendation.
